of Vero Beach, Florida.

The near shore reefs off Vero Beach, are a part of the "Coral Reef Ecosystem" which are defined as "those species, habitats, and other natural resources associated with coral reefs. Vero's reef's fit into this classification due to the habitat associated with the Occulina reefs offshore.

Executive order 13089, also known as the "coral reef initiative, is now helping to protect coral reef ecosystems for the use and enjoyment of future generations.
